Epic assists APICTA 2010 delegation from Sri Lanka |
| Representing the FITIS Software Chapter, Shanta R Yapa Vice President HRD, OD & Corporate Communications of Epic Lanka acted as the Economy Coordinator for Sri Lanka at the APICTA 2010 held in Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia from October 12-15, 2010. |
| Winners of national level ICT competitions from 16 Asia Pacific countries competed in APICTA Awards in 16 different categories of e-government, e-learning, tourism and hospitality, media and entertainment, communications, financial industry applications, industrial applications, e-logistics and supply chain management, security, tools and infrastructure applications, Research and development, e-health, start-up companies, e-inclusion and e-community and secondary and tertiary student projects. A delegation of over 35 Sri Lankans attended this event representing 17 products. The delegation also included a panel of judges mainly from BCS Sri Lanka Section headed by Prof Gihan Wickramanayake. Sri Lanka won 4 merit awards at the 10th Asia Pacific ICT Alliance Awards concluded on October 15, 2010. |
| Epic Lanka won the first ever Gold Award for Sri Lanka in a commercial category at the Asia Pacific ICT Alliance Awards in 2008 and also won the merit award in the same category of financial services industry category in 2009. |
