| Sri Lanka Malaysia Business Council (SLMBC) was inaugurated in 1994 under the aegis of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce to promote investments and trade between Sri Lanka and Malaysia. SLMBC currently has a vibrant membership of 135 firms. |
| Epic Lanka being a company closely associated with Malaysia actively takes part in organizing the 5th Annual Sri Lanka Malaysia Business Awards (SLMBA) to be held on June 9, 2010 at Cinnamon Grand, Colombo. |
| Epic Lanka won the highest number of awards in consecutive years at the SLMBA. They also won the most coveted award of ‘Outstanding Achiever 2009’ at the 5th SLMBA held in August 2009. With the intention accommodating and recognizing new member firms Epic Lanka decided to not to compete in the Sri Lanka Malaysia Business Awards during this year. However, the company plays an active role in organizing the event. Manjula Thawalampitiya, Senior Vice President – Finance and Administration of Epic Lanka acts as the Awards Committee Chairman. Epic Lanka and their technology partner from Malaysia HeiTech Padu Bhd act as a co-sponsor of the International Business Leaders Forum to be held on June 9, 2010. Hon Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamed, Former Prime Minister of Malaysia will be the keynote speaker. The theme of the conference is “The Malaysian Development Experience and Opportunities for Sri Lanka’s Economic Ascendance” |
