Representing Sri Lanka Association for Software Industry (SLASI), Shanta R Yapa Head of HRD, OD & Corporate Communications of Epic Lanka made a presentation on a new approach in industry training to a visiting delegation from the World Bank on November 25, 2009 at the World Bank Sri Lanka - country office. SLASI assists the Sri Lanka Insttute of Advnaced Technological Education (SLIATE), an entity coming under the Ministry Of Higher Education in developing a new model for industry training/placement of their students who receive technical education at many Advanced Technical Institutions throughout the country. Udaya De Silva and Sudharshan Welihinda participated at this meeting on behalf of SLASI and a team of SLIATE officials headed by Kamal Pathmasiri, Director General also participated. Dr Sam Mikhail headed the World Bank delegation.
