| The Federation of IT Industry and Services, Sri Lanka popularly known as FITISS conducted the TechEve on October 6, 2009 at the OPA Auditorium, Colombo 7. Shanta R Yapa, Vice President of Epic Lanka (Pvt) Ltd made a presentation on the topic “Managing Innovations – the Untold Perspectives”. The necessity for promoting innovations at firm level and importance of managing the innovation process were highlighted throughout his presentation. |

| In his, introductory remarks, Damith Hettihewa, CEO of FITISS emphasized the importance of local companies being innovative as Sri Lanka is no more a low cost destination for software developments. He highlighted the need for commercializing creative ideas in order to offer world class ICT solutions totally designed and developed in Sri Lanka. |

| FITISS TechEve is a monthly forum for IT professionals to meet and enhance their knowledge in an informal setting. Eminent speakers will be invited to talk on contemporary and important topics in the industry. As His Excellency President Mahinda Rajapakse has announced year 2009 as the Year of IT and English, FITISS together with its member associations offers many similar projects that would help the government to achieve its objectives in using ICT as an effective tool in developing the country. |

| Established in 1996, FITISS is the umbrella organization which consists of five leading industry associations in the ICT industry. They are Sri Lanka Association for Software Industry (SLASI), Sri Lanka Computer Vendors Association (SLCVA), Association of Computer Training Organizations (ACTOS) , Lanka Internet Service Providers Association (LISPA) and Information Systems Audit and Controls Association (ISACA) . |
